Lack of sleep will put anyone in a miserable mood. Who wants to be around someone in a bad mood? Not me! What if you still can’t fall asleep after you try all the sleep recommendations? BLOG
When you lay in bed your mind can’t stop, you toss and turn, every noise, the darkness and even the quietness of your room annoys you!
How about if I told you to eat before bed? Certain foods spark the melatonin in your body and inhibit sleep. Don’t get too excited! Not all foods are alright to consume before bed. When you lie horizontal, this can interrupt your digestion and can cause heartburn with certain foods.
Try this
- Banana with oatmeal (or each by itself)
- Chamomile tea
- Banana with almond butter
- Almond Milk RECIPE
- Turkey
- flax seeds
- potatoes
- eggs
These produce an inviting melatonin to help relax your mind. Did you know that magnesium is somewhat of a muscle relaxant? Bananas are loaded with it!
If you have a juicer try this
- Kale, broccoli, leafy green lettuce and carrots for flavor
Try to stay away from fatty foods before bed. Eicosapentaenoic acid, (yeah, that’s a long one) is a sleep inductor. Which means fatty foods store energy and might be one of the reasons why you can’t sleep at night.
If you are body conscience, eating carbohydrates at night might not be the answer you need, so if you’re trying to keep your weight down, juice or make a cup of Chamomile tea.
If you are someone that has ideas constantly popping up in your head, make sure to have a notebook and a pen handy next to your bed. Jot it down and be sure to look over your notes when you wake up. This way your mind can relax since it knows you will acknowledge and review your thoughts from the night before.
Good luck snoozing! Let me know your thoughts and ideas that have worked for you.
