What a crazy start! I only brought one bag for a month or more worth of traveling. I only wanted a carry on luggage because of the small chance the airlines could misplace my bag.
But guess what… After being harassed by the airport security for an hour, almost missing my flight by 5 seconds (no exaggeration), I still had to check my bag due to no cabin space and US airways lost my bag anyways! I was upset at first, note the tissue,
But for some reason I just knew everything was going to be fine. The only thing I was concerned about was that my laptop is in my carry on and I really need it for work.
At least the airline was nice enough to give me a present…
This is the we are sorry we lost your luggage and you could be screwed for a couple of days package.
So to make this fast, I survived the whole night with not falling asleep, was stuck at the airport security for over an hour, I was uncertain if I was able to close my bag again since everything was organized perfectly before airport security messed everything up, barely missed my flight less than 5 second, had to check my bag, they lost my bag, no laptop, my airport ride was no where to be found, but on the positive side I made a new friend at the train station…
… he didn’t know a spit of english but still was able to help me to figure out my way to Champ de Mars.
I wondered my way through Paris following the Eiffel tower until I ran into my friends. Which I do not know how that happened. My angels may have had something to do with that.
Quick cap of the rest of the day/night
- Coffee and pastries
- My girlfriend was not only the same shoe size but the same clothing size as well. It all worked out!
- Grocery shopping for tomorrows celebration of Bristle day.
- Wine bar called Dada to enjoy Champagne with friends
- Shocked that Paris didn’t get dark till 10:30pm!
- 7 course dinner which was amazing!
- Walked around, took pictures and was actually really happy that the day one was over.
It ended up being an amazing day!! Tomorrow is Bristle day! Let the celebration begin!
A special shout out to Warren Klein. My plane buddy who was not only amazing to speak with for a bit, but he allowed me to sprawl out along three seats on the plane allowing me to sleep for 6 hours of the flight! You rock!!
