Did you know
Pets can improve your:
- mood,
- control your blood pressure better than drugs,
- encourage you to go exercise,
- help you engage with strangers to make new friends,
- be there for you when no one else can
- reduce your stress more than people
Pets provide us all these benefits and we get a loyal companion for the rest of their life? Article What could possibly go wrong? Well that is until someone else feeds your cat and his loyalty goes else where. Just kidding!
The foundation Good Dog Animal Rescue found my dog Russell and by fluke I found this rescue. I also have Houdini, a 26 pound cat who thinks he’s a dog. He’s larger than Russell as well.
This is a picture of the first day I brought Russell home.
I did not plan to get a dog. It just felt right to get Russell. The D.O.G. pet boutique WEBSITE welcomed Good Dog Animal Rescue in their store to find these abandon dogs loving homes. Without them my family would have been incomplete.
I’ve become friends with the owners Christian and Chris. I believe they have the hippest dog boutique in town and I always shop there for Russell. Check them out when you have a chance. WEBSITE
Do not get a pet if you cannot afford one. People do not realize the true costs of owning pets.
If your job enables you from properly caring for a pet, refrain from bringing one home at this time.
Here’s a great article that breaks down the Cost of owning a dog. Article
Cat’s do not need walks, yet they still require plenty of attention. A cat could give you the companionship you are looking for, teach you responsibility and help you learn how to care for something other than yourself.
If you’re not home often and still want a pet get a companion for them or hire someone to walk and visit regularly when you are away. Go to a local dog park in your area and ask around for a pet sitter, walker or even doggy day care center.
Try being a volunteer at a local shelter. Spend time with the dogs and cats who are not currently placed in homes. Use a search engine, type ‘volunteer animal shelter (your city)’, then enter.
Life changing
Animals change the energy of your home. They make you laugh unexpectedly with the silly things they do and seems to always welcome your guests more efficiently than you can.
When you have a pet, they become part of your family. Some couples can’t have children and their babies are their pets.
To make this simple, my little Russell and fat cat bring so much love and happiness to my life. Our pets rely on us to supply food, water and love everyday and we are happy to give it. Treat your animals with respect. I believe they reflect your energy and personality. So when you feel they are disobedient or won’t listen, just think about who they must have learned that from.
