Dangers of consuming wheatgrass. Wheatgrass & Health Tips

Believe it or not, but there are not many side effects when you consume wheatgrass. The only cautions you need to watch out for is “when” you actually consume the wheatgrass.

First thing to be cautious about is never consume wheatgrass with a meal or eat immediately after you take a wheatgrass shot.

Side effects such as;

  • Rapid excretion of toxins
  • Headache
  • Nausia
  • constipation
  • loss of appetite

A “detox” effect occurs when the body rapidly undergoes removal of toxins such as heavy metals, bad fats, carcinogens, metabolic waste, and impurities in our body.

This rapid excretion of toxins can causes headache and nausea, the same effects that have been incorrectly attributed to when mold is consumed. Once the toxins are removed from the body, the side effects will no longer occur. These “detox effects” usually subside over a short period of time.

If your wheatgrass ever develops a blue fuzz mold which is a type of slim mold that can easily be rinsed off in the sink or cut off since this type of mold does not penetrate the wheatgrass.

If your wheatgrass develops a white or brown mold, it usually kills the wheatgrass and it’s not consumable anyways. The white and brown mold should never be consumed.

Some claim that wheatgrass can’t be digested in a liquid form. I agree that wheatgrass should never be consumed in it’s whole state without being juiced.

In order to digest wheatgrass as a whole food standpoint, you would need multiple stomachs like cows. In my opinion, juice wheatgrass, yield the benefits from it and forget about the fact of needing multiple stomachs to consume it.

Tomorrow is wheatgrass weekly round up and a personal tip of the day.
