Life is not meant to be a constant battle with sickness, sadness, and depression. To truly live, we must seek out health and happiness as our primary focus. It’s not an easy path, but it is a worthwhile one. Allow me to show you that a life of joy and vitality is within your reach.

New year resolutions. Awake and Living, Friendships, & Relationships

The problem with new year resolutions, more often than not, if you choose something that you don’t believe you can really obtain. That’s why you fail.

Don’t make goals you can’t visualize your self-reaching. You set your self up for failure each time. What’s so fun about that?

Start off with small goals and see them as stepping stones. This will lead you to obtain larger goals that you may not see your self-achieving just yet.

For example:

The number one resolution made each year is to lose weight. Try this one:

  • walk 30 minutes once a week
  • instead of taking the escalator take the stairs
  • walk the dog one extra block
  • two nights of the week don’t eat past 8 pm
  • Go on a hike once a month

Those are just some ideas you can use to build on. Walking 30 minutes can turn into 40. Going on a hike once a month can turn into twice a month and so on.

My new year resolution is to laugh more.

Don’t get me wrong, I laugh all the time, but I want to laugh more! So my list looks like this:

  • Go to a comedy club once a month
  • watch two funny movies every month
  • Continue my weekly lunch dates
  • Continue my happy hour girls club
  • Continue going to all my blog meetings
  • Continue going to book club meetings
  • Continue to meet new energetic, funny, vibratious people!

Now those are goals I know I can reach for the rest of the new year!

Set your self up for success not for failure! xxx <3 A&L
